It would be unfair to expect tonight to live up to the fanfare of last night. We all know that racing action is
rarely that intense. Night 2 of the Indiana Sprint Weeks was not boring, but it was not the Brad Doty
Classic. It had been 5 years since I had been to the Lawrenceburg Speedway, and 4 million dollars had
been sunk into the facility in preparation for the 2008 season. Therefore, the first order of business was
getting a look at the track and its facilities.
I found the improvements made by the Argosy Casino to meet my approval. We then turned our attention
to the cars in the pits. Tonight's menu involved the USAC National Sprint Series and the UMRC TQ
Midgets. We worked our way through the pits getting pictures of the participants.
I was briefly distracted by the distillery on the horizon...
However, I quickly returned to the task at hand, determining who had appeared in the pits.
In the midst of all of the cars was a truly unique paint scheme.
And finally I made my way through the rest of the cars.
