No pictures tonight.  I spent the day running errands, picking up some things requested by some friends,
and relaxing.  When my mom made it home from work, we made our way to Eldora Speedway for the
Knight Before the Kings Royal.  I did manage to make my way over to sponsor a lap (Lap #33) for
tomorrow night's race in the name of the Iowa Flood Victims.  We then made our way over to the pits for
qualifying.  Mother Nature was threatening all night, so the officials had both the World of Outlaws and
the NRA Sprint Invaders in hurry up mode.

I have to mention I put my mom to work tonight.  As we walked through the pits to the stand, the 20W got
rolled into the lane leading to the back pit row with no 4-wheeler or crew in sight.  I pulled her over and
we pushed the car over to his pit stall.  His crew members were laughing as we came around the bend
when they saw two women pushing their car back for them.  I hope he gives them a lot of grief!

The night went really well with very few crashes, and very little equipment being torn up until the end.
The 1X of Randy Hannigan went up in flames at the end of the B Main, but he held on for a transfer spot
with fire pouring out of the engine compartment as he took the checkers.  A closer look showed that part
of the frame had actually broken off and shot through the oil pan causing the fire.  Miraculously, that
crew (my new heros) changed the engine in 9 minutes.  Yes, I said 9 minutes and made it out for the
feature.

The feature started out with a bang.  Within 5 laps, a major wreck collected 6 cars.  Dale Blaney was
leading Joey Saldana and Jason Meyers.  Kraig Kinser was involved and required a fuel cell change as
his was leaking.  This is only important because this restarted him at the tail of the field.  When the field
went back to green, it wasn't long before Dale caught up to the tail of the field.  Kraig proceeded to block
the leader lap after lap until Saldana and Meyers passed Dale.  As Saldana and Meyers came up on Kraig,
he very politely attached himself to the bottom of the track letting them by and moved back up in Dale's
way.  If I was Dale, I would have put a major boot in his you-know-what after the race.  However, Dale had
to jump out of his 410 sprinter and into his 360 sprinter for the NRA Sprint Invaders feature race.  After
taking 3rd in the 410 feature, Dale finished 2nd in the 360 feature.  All in all, not a bad night, and a lot of
fun to watch.

Tomorrow promises to be even more exciting as we are going to a banquet with all of the past winners of
the previous 24 Kings Royal events (minus Dave Blaney who will be racing in Chicago).  This will be
followed by an auction, a book signing (Doug Wolfgang and Dave Argabright), and the much awaited
Kings Royal race.  Tomorrow it will be nothing but 410 sprinters!
